A
little about us....
Stourbridge
Wado Ryu Karate Club was founded in 1983, and is perhaps the oldest
running Wado ryu club in Stourbridge. It has been handed down
from Instructor to student over the years and is currently run
by sensei Paul Leonard (4th Dan) and sensei Tony Harvey (2nd Dan).
Our
aim at the club is to provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere
in which for people to come and train, without losing any of the
discipline that is required in karate training. Stourbridge Wado
Ryu is a local club for local people. We believe that people should
be able to train wherever they want, when they want, and we welcome
everybody to our club, whether you are a complete beginner to
the world of martial arts, or are just looking for a change in
your martial arts training. Everybody from the age of 6 and upwards
is welcome to train at our club.
We
are a traditional Wadoryu club and try to teach the same way in
which our instructor taught us. But we also like to teach a wide
range of things such as kickboxing, self-defence and wrestling.
We have a full spread of abilities from Beginner to Black Belt
and pride ourselves on being a small club so the student can get
a one on one and personal tuition under an instructor and not
just be another number in an oversized class.
